$50M TO GO TOWARD LARGE SCALE HOTELS IN DAYTON

Stay awhile. Investments that total $50 million are going toward expanding hotel space in downtown Dayton. A new hotel with 120 rooms called the Hotel Ardent is set to open on North Main Street later this year. Another 134-room hotel called AC Hotel by Marriott is set to open in early 2023. Puff, puff, pass. Dayton-area restaurants, Warped Wing and Pizza Bandit, have collaborated to create a pizza and beer inspired by the Panama Red strain of cannabis. The flavor is set to launch on April 20th, a holiday commonly known as 4/20 where cannabis culture and consumption is celebrated. Original story here.
GRAMMY-WINNERS SET TO PERFORM AT THE FRAZE THIS SUMMER

Trophy time. Dayton’s Third Street Bridge, also known as the “Peace Bridge,” won the 2021 Outstanding Short Span Roadway Bridge award. The award was given by the Association of Bridge Construction and Design. The bridge is decorated with pictures of Martin Luther King Jr., the Wright Brothers, and Lawrence Dunbar. Representatives from the Montgomery County Engineer's Office said that the bridge serves as a symbol of Dayton Unity. More here.
FIVE RIVERS METROPARKS PREPARING FOR SUMMER FESTIVITIES

Fun in the sun. Five Rivers MetroParks is set to host its Passport to MetroParks event on May 6 at RiverScape Metro Parks. The event is free to the public and includes live music, food trucks, and family activities. As attendees participate in the events they will get a stamp in their “event passport.” More stamps mean more chances to win a variety of prizes.
