new food festivals coming to austin landing

Calling all foodies. Austin Landing will host two new food festivals this summer – the Miami Valley Pickle Fest and the Taco and Nacho Fest. The Pickle Fest is scheduled for June 25 and the Taco and Nacho Fest is scheduled for August 27. Both events will feature a Bud Light Beer Garden and live music. Chow down on the full story here.

Let the games begin. Dolphin House Games is a Dayton-based game company. Last year, the company experienced tremendous success with the release of their card game “Taco Cat Goat Cheese Pizza.” This game hit the number one spot on Amazon’s most sold games. ROTARY CLUB HOSTING LOCAL AND EXCHANGE STUDENTS FOR DISCUSSION EVENT

It’s all about relationships. Students from the Dayton Regional STEM school are participating in a dialogue event hosted by The Rotary called Advocacy and Service Day. Representatives from The Rotary say the event is for local and exchange students to discuss relationship building and problem solving through peace. The students from Bosnia and Herzegovina are a part of an exchange program that allows them to spend three weeks in Dayton. Read the full story here.
RIVERSIDE POLICE DEPARTMENT APPOINTS FIRST FEMALE MAJOR

Who runs the world? The Riverside Police Department has named Angelia Jackson as major, the second highest ranking position in the department. This makes Jackson the department’s first woman to achieve this rank. Colleagues of Jackson said that her dedication to the community and respect for her peers make her well-suited for the role.
