LOCAL COLLEGES BAND TOGETHER IN SUPPORT OF INTEL’S $20B SPEND IN OHIO

Intel Corp.’s recent decision to build $20 billion worth of chip factories in central Ohio has inspired a new partnership among area colleges to help support domestic advanced semiconductor growth. The Midwest Regional Network to Address National Needs in Semiconductor and Microelectronics, as it's called, includes schools in Ohio, Michigan and Indiana with local schools including Wright State University, University of Dayton and Sinclair College. The network hopes to support research and workforce needs. More here.

Thanks to several groups like Generation Dayton, Dayton Homecoming, Dayton Young Black Professionals, plus young professionals groups in South Dayton and Beavercreek, enhancing the experience for young adults is a big win for the area. Besides group support from these organizations, a number of factors are contributing to the growing number of young professionals moving in (or back to) the area including affordable housing and a growing number of things to do. YELLOW SPRINGS NATIVE RELEASES FILM HIGHLIGHTING DIVERSITY

Yellow Springs native Jennifer Sharp, a filmmaker, screenwriter and actress, released “Una Great Movie,” last month on Amazon Prime Video which tells the story of Zoe, a Black screenwriter fighting the Hollywood machine. Sharp received her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Drama from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts after graduating from Yellow Springs High School. Learn more here.
