FIREWORKS SALES BOOMING IN MIAMI VALLEY AREA

Going out with a bang. The firework industry is predicted to see profits of up to $2.3 billion this year for July 4th celebrations. The Miami Valley area has been reported to already see these profits. The rise of fireworks sales is likely due to the state of Ohio legalizing fireworks on July 1st. Learn more here.
DAYTON-based BAND ANNOUNCES RELEASE OF NEW ALBUM

Rock on. Dayton-based indie rock band Yuppie has announced the release of their new album Peculiar in addition to several other projects. The album is now available on music streaming platforms and is available for purchase on outlets such as Bandcamp and Amazon. Other projects besides the album include a documentary and the release of several music videos. More here.

Dog days of summer. The city of Dayton has announced a ribbon-cutting ceremony to open the latest dog park in the area. The park will be named Triangle Dog Park. It will be located south of Embury Park Road on Ridge Avenue. Full story here.

Cuttin' up. Army veteran and Dayton native Rylan Williams opened a barbershop business in downtown Dayton located in the Manhattan Building. He first began learning how to cut hair while serving in the military. He has said that he hopes his barbershop business will help unite the community. Full story here.
ENGLEWOOD RESIDENT RECEIVES NATIONAL LEADERSHIP AWARD

Congrats are in order. Brett Breeze, an Englewood local, will be honored with the 2022 Direct Support Professional of the Year award in the leadership category. The award will be bestowed upon him from the American Network of Community Options and Resources. Breeze works for a nonprofit organization called Pets and People, which aims to teach people skills in addition to making dog treats. More here.
