Art in the City, a popular art event, will return to downtown Dayton this summer. This event will feature local artists and their work, live music, and other fun activities. It will take place on August 5th with submissions to sign up to display or perform by May 19. More here.

CULP’S CAFE REOPENS IN CARILLON HISTORICAL PARK AFTER COVID CLOSURE

Culp's Cafe, a popular eatery located in Carillon Historical Park, has reopened after being closed for several months due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The “one-of-a-kind eatery paying homage to small soda fountains, lunch counters and the Culp family” is known for its homemade soups, sandwiches, and desserts. DAYTON OFFICE SECURES CONTRACT MODIFICATION FOR DEPARTMENT OF DEFENSE SUPPORT

The Dayton office of London-based RELX Inc., an analytics company that provides information-based analytics and decision tools, has secured a contract modification to continue providing support to the Department of Defense. The modification is worth $3.3 million and will allow the office to continue providing services related to logistics and engineering support. The deal will bring new work to the company’s Miamisburg operation which could lead to local hires and may accelerate the firm's growth in the region. More here.
LOCAL DJ OWNS MOST PROPERTIES ON DAYTON NUISANCE LIST

Donatian Mahanga, a Congolese refugee who goes by the name DJ Grin the Peacemaker, owns more properties on the Dayton nuisance list than any other individual. The properties have been the subject of complaints from neighbors due to issues such as overgrown grass and trash, however Mahanga has stated that he is working to fix the properties and rent them out mainly to refugees who often struggle to find housing they can afford and that will accept them.
