dayton's north arcade development set for expansion
REAL ESTATE
The North Arcade Development project in Dayton is set to bring dining and entertainment to the downtown area in early 2023. The development will feature a variety of concepts, including a retail hub and pedestrian connector on the lower floors. The upper floors will become home to a 94-room Hilton Garden Inn with a lobby entrance from Third Street. This $41M construction phase on the North Arcade is currently underway with anticipated completion in late 2024. See the full story here.
'BANKSYLAND' EXHIBIT FEATURING WORKS OF STREET ARTIST BANKSY COMING TO SW OHIO

The Banksyland exhibit, a touring show featuring the work of anonymous street artist Banksy, is coming to Over-The-Rhine May 5-7. The exhibit features reproductions of Banksy's most famous works, as well as interactive installations and other art from street artists around the world. Admission ranges from $22-$59 plus tax. Organizers have promised a "unique and immersive experience." Learn more here.
'THE SQUARE IS WHERE' BRINGS FREE LUNCHTIME ENTERTAINMENT TO DOWNTOWN DAYTON

The Square is Where, a lunchtime entertainment series, has returned to Courthouse Square in downtown Dayton. The series features live music, dance performances, fitness, and other entertainment Tuesday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The events are free and open to the public and run from April through September. The series is sponsored by the Downtown Dayton Partnership and is intended to draw visitors and workers in the area to support the local businesses downtown. More here.

kings island amusement park opens exclusive vip lounge for passholders

Kings Island amusement park in Mason has opened a new VIP lounge exclusively for passholders of its Prestige and Prestige+ passes. The lounge is located across from the new Enrique’s restaurant by Tower Gardens and is billed as a “relaxing retreat” from the midways “with all-day access.” It has grab-and-go snacks, shaded lounge seating and other amenities, park officials said. Passholders will need to show their pass and a photo ID to enter the lounge, which is open daily during park operating hours. Full story here.
graeter's ice cream releases 'flying pig' flavor to celebrate marathon anniversary

Graeter's Ice Cream has released a limited edition flavor to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Flying Pig Marathon. The flavor, called Flying Pig Tracks, features peanut butter cups and chocolate fudge, according to the release. The flavor was released today to scoop shops, followed by select Kroger, Jungle Jim’s and Dorothy Lane stores in the Cincinnati and Dayton areas. A portion of the proceeds from sales of the flavor will go to support the marathon's charities. Read more here.
DAYTON'S COMMUNITY BLOOD CENTER UNDERGOES EXPANSION

Community Blood Center/Community Tissue Services recently purchased two vacant buildings in Kettering. The additional 400,000 square feet will help the center handle its continued growth and include the addition of new blood donation beds, a new apheresis donation room, and a larger waiting area for donors, and more. The renovation will also improve the center's technology infrastructure and make the facility more energy-efficient. Learn more here.
