It’s a big win for the artist community in the Miami Valley. The National Endowment for the Arts awarded $500,000 in funding to Culture Works for qualified artists and arts organizations in the Dayton area. An application process is in the works by Culture Works for spring with grants being issued by summer. Full story here.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Dayton is proposing a $25 million facility to serve more families of children with medical conditions. The project would expand their guest rooms from 14 to 45 and result in more jobs. What could be better than that? More here.

The past few years have been tough on businesses nationwide, but particularly for small-owned businesses. Unfortunately Oregon District’s beck + call is one of the latest casualties. The woman-owned clothing, accessories, and home goods shop is closing its doors on Dec. 31, 2021. A liquidation sale is on-going till then. More information is available here.

Ohio lawmakers are fighting the good fight to make Daylight Saving Time permanent, however it's not the first time they’ve tried. The Sunshine Protection Act, as it's called, “now in congressional committees, has been introduced several times without success.” Full story here.

The Entrepreneur Center has launched a new revenue-based investment fund for Dayton-area entrepreneurs and clients that are part of it’s program. The Rotunda Fund will not require entrepreneurs to give up equity in their companies - instead it will offer funds that will be paid back monthly as a negotiated percentage of sales over a period of 5 years or at a 2x return to the fund.
