Cryptocurrency has made its way into the talking points of a few Ohio political candidates including Morgan Harper, U.S. Senate Candidate (D) who spoke with crypto enthusiasts last week, Josh Mandel, U.S. Senate Candidate (R) who tweeted that bitcoin could “make saving great again,” and Congressman Tim Ryan (D) who co-introduced legislation for reporting requirements. AUSTIN LANDING RESTAURANT CLOSING

Mike’s Nashville Hot restaurant, located in Austin Landing, has abruptly closed after five years in business there. A second location in the North Village mall in Centerville closed in 2018. Many interested businesses have inquired about leasing the space in Austin Landing but nothing has been announced yet. Learn more here.
$5 TICKETS FOR PERFORMING ARTS
ENTERTAINMENT
The Dayton Performing Arts Alliance has partnered with AES Ohio to launch The Arts Are for Everyone, a new initiative aimed to make performances more financially accessible. Through the program, members of the public can purchase seats for $5 per ticket to Dayton Ballet, Dayton Opera and Dayton Philharmonic shows on a first-come, first-serve basis. More here.
gm buys 54 acres near dayton
BUSINESS
General Motors Co. has purchased 54 acres of land in Brookville (northwest of Dayton) adjacent to the plant it co-owns with Isuzu Diesel Services of America last year. While it’s still uncertain what the land will be used for, it could mean good news for the area’s manufacturing job market. Original story here.
