DAYTON NON-ALCOHOLIC BOTTLE SHOP RECEIVES NATIONAL SHOUTOUT

Poppin’ bottles. Non-alcoholic ones, that is. Dayton’s own Ghostlight Coffee and Bottle Shop was recognized by Thrillist, a New York City based food and travel publication, as an establishment that “helps mindful drinkers thrive.” Founded by Shane Anderson, Ghostlight Coffee and Bottle Shop is the first non-alcoholic bottle shop to be opened in Ohio. The shop sells non-alcoholic cocktails, whiskey, rum, tequila, beer, wine, and more. According to the Thrillist article, Anderson was inspired to create the shop because “there are very few spaces in Dayton that cater to people who don’t drink alcohol.” Check out the full story here.
'CLOTHES THAT WORK' NON-PROFIT goes mobile

Dressed to impress. Clothes That Work, a non-profit organization located in Dayton, is purchasing a bus in order to bring its services directly into the community. Clothes That Work’s mission is to help people make the transition from public assistance into the workforce by providing professional attire for job interviews. Executive Director, Cindy Garner, hopes that the bus will help eliminate travel barriers for under-resourced clients. Along with launching a sizable fundraising campaign, the organization is hoping to receive a generous grant from Montgomery Country to get the bus on the road as quickly as possible. Learn more here.
'HAMILTON' CAST MEMBER SURPRISes LOCAL MIDDLE SCHOOL

Totally starstruck. Choral students at Coy Middle School were shocked when Stephanie Jae Park, the actress who plays Eliza in the musical “Hamilton,” made a surprise appearance in their choir class. Park gave the students some vocal pointers and answered questions about the theater industry. “ I feel very responsible to set a good example and be a good role model, but mostly I’m just grateful. ENTREPRENEURS LAUNCH UNIQUE BOUTIQUE CONCEPT IN OAKWOOD

Teamwork makes the dream work. Leslie Moss, owner of Shoppe Smitten, and Katie Matthews, owner of Ordinarie Fare, are combining their entrepreneurial expertise to open a new clothing, home goods, and food shop in Oakwood. With Moss’ background in home goods and clothing paired with Matthew’s background in organic food, the pair feels that their collaboration will bring a unique and enjoyable experience to customers. CEO OF DAYTON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL WINS REGIONAL LEADERSHIP AWARD

Winner, winner, chicken dinner. Deborah Feldman, president and CEO of Dayton Children’s Hospital was chosen as the recipient of this year’s Maureen Patterson Regional Leadership Award. According to the Dayton Development Coalition, this award honors “extraordinary community leaders who advocate for the community’s economic health and growth.” Upon receiving this award, Fedlman was recognized by the president of the Dayton Development Coalition as a “true servant leader” who “works everyday to make our community better.” Find the full story here.
DAYTON'S WARPED WING EXPANSION STILL ON SCHEDULE

New location, same vibes. Known as “the reigning king of Dayton craft beer,” local restaurant Warped Wings is all set to open its new location in Mason. Culinary director and director of retail operations, Eric O’Neil, is excited to bring the restaurant's eclectic menu and wide variety of beer selections to the new location. 2021 was Warped Wing’s fourth time being voted the #1 Best Local Brewery in Dayton.
