Sinclair Community College Theater has announced its production of Jeff Stetson’s 1987 drama “The Meeting” - an imagined private strategy session between Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X in a Harlem Hotel in 1965 during the Civil Rights Movement. Performances are set for Feb. 9 and 10 at the Blair Hall Theater. Learn more here.

Sold to the highest bidder? After sitting empty for nearly 15 years, the building that once housed the Dayton Daily News on West Fourth and South Ludlow streets could soon be under contract. The purchase would add another link to the chain of developments happening downtown. According to Scott Murphy, Vice President of Economic Development with the Downtown Dayton Partnership, “More than $200 million is currently under construction or in the development pipeline within two blocks of Main Street.” More here.

Howdy, neighbor. The city of Columbus’ local tourism organization, Experience Columbus, has announced the launch of a new, 7-stop distillery trail. An hour outside of Dayton, it’s a great way for distillery heads to experience world-class spirits makers without trekking all the way out to Kentucky. To join the trail, anyone 21 and older can sign up on the Distillery Trail’s website, then receive a text and email with a digital passport to check-in at each location. Yes, you read that right. “Michelangelo’s Sistine Chapel: The Exhibition” is open at the Mall at Fairfield Commons now through Sunday, Feb. 13. The iconic ceiling frescoes have been reproduced through high-resolution photography and placed on canvas. “These are the exact images,” said Sylvia Noland, business development manager at Los Angeles-based SEE Global Entertainment, producer of the exhibit. “And that’s why we need 10,000 square feet of space because that’s how large the ceiling at the Vatican is.” Original story on view here.
