DAYTON NATIVE APPEARS ON ST. PATRICK'S DAY EPISODE OF 'JEOPARDY'

We’ll take “Dayton” for $1,000! Joel Moss Levinson, a resident of Yellow Springs, appeared on “Jeopardy” for the St. Patrick’s Day episode. Levinson's appearance on the show comes seven weeks after Amy Schneider, also a Dayton native, completed a historic 40-game winning streak on the show. CENTRAL STATE AWARDS FREE TUITION TO ALL STUDENTS AT LOCAL HIGH SCHOOL

On the road to success. Adji Diagne and Ramiah Johnson, seniors at Horizon Science Academy in Dayton, were awarded full-tuition scholarships to Central State University. Dr. Jack Thomas, president of Central State University, personally presented the awards on Friday. Thomas said that offering these scholarships is part of the university’s plan to focus on local students. Read the full story here.

fairmont high grad to compete on nbc's 'american song contest'

It’s showtime. Colton Jones, a 2012 graduate of Fairmont Highschool, is set to compete on NBC’s televised singing competition, “American Song Contest.” Jones and his partner, Dani Brillhart, are competing together under the name Ni/Co. The show will premiere tonight on NBC at 8 p.m. Learn more here.
local bar holds st. patrick's day fundraiser for local police officer

Shamrockin’ for the cause. Dublin Pub held a fundraiser on Thursday for Pat McCoy, a local police officer who used to work security for the pub on St. Patrick’s Day. McCoy was diagnosed with stage IV pancreatic cancer in February and also suffered a major stroke. The goal of the fundraiser was to raise $10,000 for McCoy’s medical bills and recovery efforts.
