DAYTON business leader goes to outer space

3,2,1…blast off! Larry Connor, Dayton-area business leader and philanthropist, is the pilot of Space X’s first private charter flight to outer space. Connor and three other passengers are scheduled to take a 10-day trip to the International Space Station. Reports say that participants paid $55 million each. FORMER HOTEL COULD BECOME ENTERTAINMENT DESTINATION HOTSPOT

Out with the old, in with the new. The new owners of the former Dayton Grand Hotel are proposing to turn the space into a prohibition-themed entertainment center that would feature bowling, golf, game simulations, and apartment living space. Check out the full story here.
DAYTON dragons have special events planned for 2022 season

Hey batter, batter swing! The Dragons kicked off their season on Friday at Day Air Ballpark, but this year they’re giving fans more than just baseball to look forward to. The organization will hold events such as firework shows, family movie nights, and meet-and-greets. The team currently holds the longest sell-out streak in all of Class-A baseball at a record 1,385 consecutively sold-out regular season home games. Check out a list of all the events here.

Art is all around us. The Dayton Art Institute and the African American Visual Artists Guild are teaming up on a joint exhibit to highlight Black artists. The exhibit, called Black Heritage Through Visual Rhythms, will feature a variety of local artists and will run through May 22nd. Check out the full story here.
